When did you start tattooing?

2011

Do you have any special training?

None what so ever

Tell us about the style of your work?

old school, anime, manga, traditional

What conventions do you usually work?

n/a

Where did you apprentice?

i started my apprenticeship under lucas macauley in october of 2011 at neighbourhood tattoos here in regina sk. it has been a very fast learning curve which i love because i like to be challenged and pushed to learn.

How did you get into tattooing?

when i was a kid i used to tour in a hardcore band ad in our travels coast to coast canada we met a lot of really good bands many of which had tattoos. and i think thats where it started. more or less to me i think it was if you are going to play hardcore music you should try to look the part haha. however when all that came to an end i think is when tattoos became more about the art and the passion of it whether it be getting tattoos or giving them they have pretty much consumed me.

What inspires you as an artist?

um when i was younger i think most of my influence came from anime i viewed a lot of animated art work from japan to be some of the most top notch art in the world. and i still hold their work in high esteem now however i would have to say that i follow a ridiculous amount of tattoo artists whether it be on facebook, tumblr,or instagram these artists constantly push me. i look at their work and think my god these guys are good! how do they do the things they do? and then i push myself to try and get better than them. its been a long process and i can only hope that some day i will catch them haha.

What tattoo artist do you most admire?

um oddly enough even though i have never met the guy mike adams owner of true sight tattoo company. whether it be his flash work, tattooing, or machine building i love everything he creates and i have made respect for his work.

Before someone gets a tattoo, what advice do you give them?

Um i would think my biggest piece of advice would be to research the artist and their work. make sure you know exactly what you are getting yourself into so that when the tattoo is all said and done it is exactly what you would hope it would be. i think the natural misconception that a lot of people have is that every tattoo artist should be able to tattoo every piece. which i don't think is the case at all. i think you choose to go to an artist for their specific strengths for example i would not ask a portrait artist to do a traditional piece on me and vice versa. i think you choose the artist for their style and strengths. so knowing and artists strengths and weakness is key

Is there anyone that you would like to tattoo?

haha probably my old man.. neither of my parents like tattoos at all haha they support me in what i do but they hate tattoos. if my father ever got a tattoo from me it would be a total game changer .. however i think hell would freeze over far before that would ever happen.

What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing?

Basically anything that has a traditional or anime base to it. i love doing pieces that you can sit down and bang out in one sit and walk away from it and think yup i'm happy with it.

Is there a tattoo that you haven't done yet that you are dying to do?

um so far in my short lived career i have got to do some pretty intense spots whether it was face, arm pit, hands, or neck! but the one spot i have not gotten a chance to do yet would have to be top of the head and or side of it and i am eager to try it.
