When did you start tattooing?
2009
Do you have any special training?
Bachelor of Fine Art in Studio Painting and Drawing from the University of North Texas
What conventions do you usually work?
I've done conventions in Texas, Sweden and Australia and hoping to do more in the future. I have some lined up this year that I'm really looking forward to, Tattoolapalooza and Tattoo Jam UK.
Where did you apprentice?
I apprenticed at Abandoned Art Wanneroo in Perth, Western Australia. Awesome shop!
How did you get into tattooing?
I was going to school for art and working at a beauty salon doing reception and permanent makeup. During that time I did a couple of tattoos...they weren't that great. I'm sorry to those people. After college I met my husband and we moved to Australia where I got my apprenticeship.
What inspires you as an artist?
Everything...I'm constantly inspired by other artists, people, places, plants, animals, buildings. I think this is why guest spots and traveling are so beneficial.
What tattoo artist do you most admire?
I admire Jonny and the crew at Abandoned Art that apprenticed me and all of the artists out there pumping out great pieces while finding the time for family and kiddos, paintings and drawings, conventions, traveling and guest spots, while making it look easy. My hubby and I don't have any kids yet and I still can't find the time to fit everything in!
Before someone gets a tattoo, what advice do you give them?
Research your artist and make sure you are allowing them to do what they do best. Go to them because you want their art. Don't choose an artist just because it was a cheap price or because they can get you in that day. Collect Art!
What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing?
I really look forward to tattooing more exaggerated and extreme versions of portraits and pin ups.
Is there a tattoo that you haven't done yet that you are dying to do?
No...there are thousands of them!
