What year did you start tattooing?

The summer of 2003.

How did you get into tattooing?

I’ve been into tattoos since I can remember but didn’t get into doing them until I was fortunate enough to get an apprenticeship while I was in college.

Where did you apprentice?

The biggest little shitty in the world, Reno, NV.

Do you have any special training?

In tattooing? No. But I did meet a wizard once.

What conventions have you worked at?

Lately I’ve been taking advantage of the traveling opportunities that come with being a tattooer. I’ve done so many conventions I can’t list them all, but in the last few years I’ve done Montreal, Orlando, Brussels, Green Bay, Copenhagen, and I usually do the lady luck in Reno and the Queen Mary in Long Beach each year.

How do you describe your style?

I don’t. I let others determine that.

What inspires you as an artist?

Most all things inspire me as an artist ... as a tattooer, I am fortunate enough to work with a handful of very talented dudes at Guru Tattoo in San Diego who keep me inspired and pushing myself every day.

What sets you apart from other artists?

Nothing sets me apart from the other tattoo artists out there. There are so many awesome and talented tattooers out there these days, I feel fortunate for each person that likes my work enough to get some of it permanently on their body.

What other mediums do you work in?

Watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints, and I dabble in underwater basket weaving.

How have you branched out from tattooing?

I’ve done work with a couple skateboard companies doing graphics and do some design work for other graphic companies when I can.

What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing?

Any tattoos that allow me to utilize my style and pay my bills.

Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?

Don’t throw up and don’t cry.

Is there a tattoo that you haven’t done yet that you are dying to do?

My name on someone’s forehead.
